As Environmental Coordinator at Teijin Aramid in Delfzijl, you play a crucial role in the management, optimization and expansion of our production process. Among other things, you provide annual reports to government agencies and monitor environmental emissions, intervening in case of (threatening) deviations. You are well acquainted with relevant environmental legislation and permits and draw up proposals to minimize emissions. In addition, you keep up to date with the latest developments in the field of Best Available Techniques (BAT) and you know how to apply your knowledge in a smart way within our organization.
You will be responsible for developing and monitoring environmental related procedures, guidelines and regulations. You will also initiate and supervise improvement projects to minimize our environmental impact. You will work closely with the quality manager to ensure that our company meets the highest standards in environmental care, environmental laws and regulations, waste and hazardous materials, CSR, energy and sustainability.
As Environmental Coordinator, you will also be the point of contact for environmental and energy related issues within our organization. You inform and make your colleagues aware of these issues and identify deviations, offering advice and solutions.

In addition:

• Initiate and supervise improvement projects at the operational level.
• Translating new or amended laws and regulations into practical applications for our Delfzijl location.
• Translating Teijin Aramid's ambitions into policy and pragmatic applications for our Delfzijl site.
• Make proposals to management regarding policy, annual and multi-year goals.
• Report to the QHSE manager.

What do you bring?

• HBO/WO level of thinking with an affinity for (chemical) technology.
• You have a keen eye for new developments and know how to effectively share and further develop your knowledge in the field of environment, sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the chemical sector.
• Thorough knowledge of relevant local, national and international laws and regulations.
• Strong communication skills to act as a link between Teijin and (local) governments.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in Dutch (at least A1 level).
