(junior) Chartering Manager (fulltime)

When you are ready for your first or next step in your commercial development in (sea) shipping, we would like to discuss the position of (junior) Chartering Manager with you. With its own fleet of more than 30 vessels, Wijnne Barends is one of the Netherlands' oldest shipping companies, active in European coastal shipping. From the representative office in Delfzijl, at the mouth of the river Eems, she serves her customers at home and abroad and carries out the full management of all vessels. The colleagues of the commercial department (Chartering) maintain and expand the extensive file of international customer contacts. This not only concerns long-term cont(r)acts, but also active booking of various cargoes in the current (spot) market. To expand this Chartering team, we are looking for a (junior) Chartering Manager.

Core tasks of the (junior) Chartering Manager
• Building and maintaining international customer relationships;
• Acquiring new customers and/or assignments at home and abroad;
• Negotiating and making (contract) agreements;
• Concluding rental contracts (time and travel charters), volume contracts (contract of affreightment) and (spot) cargoes.

Who are you?
• You have a commercial attitude;
• You master the Dutch and English language, in spoken and written word;
• You have no problem traveling (internationally);
• You have at least Secondary Vocational Education + level of working and thinking;
• You have strong communication skills.
